Farewell Transmission / Poetry Sucks! Not Enough To
Well crapheads: Jason Molina ain't alive anymore either. He drank himself. Of Songs: Ohia, Magnolia Electric Co. and magnificent folk solo stuff. O Molina. These are ones to have for you there:
Captain Badass / Two Blue Lights / Blue Chicago Moon

Poetry Sucks! returns ( finally ) with a reading. In Mississippi. Right. Nashville, darken hole back of poetry mouth acrid, omnivore, cud. Perhaps we draw that out upon here like a net, flapped, ropey, fingers through.
Ah, I missed the Stevie Dobyns reading. I was as close to going as one can be without actually being there.
Next reading: Vanderbilt's Front Porch Series: Brenda Butka, 3/28 ...
Let's start a reading series here? 'Spooky Mound' is a title? With fire? And ruckus and etc?

'Pider / N. Korea. / Who gendered the lit / Vanderbilt
Gettin into it as of late:
Breadwinners, salad forkers, damons and wahlbergs, all are AWPing over in Baastin, so here's our blip: Crawford hooked up an ( albeit brief ) HTMLGIANT shout-out for 'Pider to get going on 'Pider 2.
Send the goods that stays good, we want that good sandwich in the fridge for Tom in The Minority Report, not the bad ones: piderbits@gmail.com

Hey all you burger eaters, N. Korea's gonna get us.

Because I return to the issue again and over and again again: Quantitative measure of ( the / extent of ) gender inequality in lit publishing.
Now I want the Jewish data. Then the transgender. Then gay. Then Italian. Then tall. Then the tall Jewish transgender gay Italian stats... I am the patriarchy.
These books are good books because they're good books. ( 'Author' is secondary, eh ) I am not wanting to take an adversarial role in the equation of unequal gender representation in lit publishing, to ostracize any single, few, or all. I am wanting to not acknowledge gender at all. Gender as some sort of qualifier or exclusionary means, gender as important to what I consider good poetry, gender as a sign of predetermined skill to it.
Did/has poetry experienced a feminist poetic evolution into 3rd wavedom? I can name a few to it. But overt, sustained, projected allegiance to anything whole & outside of poetry in poetry ( other than the poem ), often leads to evangelical, loud, forced poetry. A wrong compulsion ( or one that does not translate with/ in poetry ).

In addition to getting a faculty member's vaj poems in the newer Native mag, Vanderbilt apparently has one of the country's 10 'best' creative writing MFA programs? I don't know which. The Fugitives rolled hard, I'm sure of it.
Fat cat reading in Nashville coming up over at Vanderbilt:

New missed nashville reading series / more spontaneous attended musics
A new reading series in Nashville? And at the very back tale end moment of national poetry month, yowzah. I was completely absent at the first of the monthly Lyrical Brew ( ... ) readings held at the Vanderbilt Barnes and Noble. Hosted by Ciana Touse. Tiana Clark ( ? ) read, so did ( uh ) Diallo McLendon.
I did, though, go to Stone Fox to see Majestico & Fly Golden Eagle last eve. The innkeeper had the lights warm, and all was grand in that boxhouse. Sexpop awe summer dada pop mixtape video synchronized mixtape feel seductive womb immersion at the latter band, an Majestico sang a song that could stay (apparently, a new one) news.

Optimisms, missed live readings, snow-done-up
I missed Hannah Gamble read ( !, ?, % ) at Parnassus the other day. I am every fiber in every rug being spilled on.
/
That other anthology was dishearteningly ungood ( lacking in good ): the poetry within ( as whole, all as one unit, which may be unfair ) just limited in range/expanding language/trajectory of poem to untired zones ( where's the zest in the thing ) , and voice/eccentric individuality.
/
Listened to extinct Dewey Decibel in a lurching breath carpod in the snow-hail-wet nowville toward used book mecca Mckay: they lemme have more Ezra, and James Dickey's The Eye-Beaters, Blood, Victory, Madness, Buckhead and Mercy.
/
Readings in Nashville, next ones:
Vanderbilt's Poetry Corner: 1/24 Kate Buckley
Vanderbilt's Visiting Writers Series: 2/14 Tracy Smith

Dans tous les sens / Readin n Ranch Ghosts
I mean what is happening in the state of the world when a scumsuckerrr like that can getaway with sandbagging a Dr. of Journalism can you tell me that (.)
Days off, library checkout ( got The Collected Frank O'Hara poems so I can be a happier one, n also The New Young American Poets anthology, which hopefully turns out better than the nepotistic, stale, creatively titled An Anthology of New (American) Poets. All three editors of An Anthology... are present, but only Lisa Jarnot's Sea Lyrics perform essentially. Also good are Beth Anderson, Renee Gladman. ), walk.
Finished Samuel Beckett's collected short prose n lost a wee bit of scaffolding on the inside, parts that aided logic that were parts that weren't operable anymore I guess:
"Other main examples suggest themselves to the mind. Immediate continuous communication with immediate redeparture. Same thing with delayed redeparture. Delayed continuous communication with immediate redeparture. Same thing with delayed redeparture. Immediate discontinuous communication with immediate redeparture. Same thing with delayed redeparture. Delayed discontinuous communication with immediate redeparture. Same thing with delayed redeparture."

GlitterPony to closeup shop after 13 issues ( ?, but starting Natural History Press ).

Californian foodtaster exploring beefcake prince perennial paternal figure for television watching boys of state, Huell Howser crosses that river to boatman hopefully his gold in hand. From an LA Times story on Howser at Coachella:
Howser wanders the pitch working to understand a scene that's quite obviously a little alien to him. One particular fan explains how excited he is to see Portishead. Howser doesn't know who or what that is, but no worry.
"I don't recognize a lot of these names," he confesses. "A lot of these are kind of obscure, aren't they?" When the fan says that they are, Howser asks, "Are you going to be waving your hands?"
"Well, it's slow music. Maybe waving my hands."

White whiskey pinches yr brains, contracts yr organs. Fugues ( verb ).

Ranch Ghost is a live band the way matches are a good type of fire: one is not capable of imagining that music without sways of locks, the unobscured process in them denim profiles bending your floor n your only foot.

I want to go teach spacecamp in Turkey. And I'd like to approach the innernet with the somewhat realistic hope of finding a song by its lyrics.
